i was doing a literary paper on “Girl” by jamaica and was trying to look up what blackbirds symbolize. it was then i learned what “black birding” was and how it was used to enslave black people. then i ran across this video, which totally took me by surprise. Moreover, i am glad to learn more about the history of Jamaicans. very powerful stuff.
