An international study has found that the Chinese people originated not from “Peking Man” in northern China, but from early humans in East Africa who moved through South Asia to China some 100,000 years ago, Hong Kong’s Ming Pao daily reported yesterday in a finding that confirms the “single origin” theory in anthropology.
According to the newspaper, a research team led by Jin Li (of Fudan University in Shanghai has found that modern humans evolved from a single origin, not multiple origins as some experts believe.
In China, school textbooks teach that the Chinese race evolved from “Peking Man,” based on a theory that humans in Europe and Asia evolved from local species.
But Jin and his fellow researchers found that early humans belonged to different species, of which only the East African species developed into modern humans.
This new finding nullifies the theory that the ancestors of the Chinese people were “Peking Man” who lived in northern China 400,000 years ago.
Based on DNA analyses of 100,000 samples gathered from around the world, a number of human families evolved in East Africa some 150,000 years ago, said Li Hui, a member of Jin’s team.
About 100,000 years ago, some of those humans began to leave Africa, with some people moving to China via South and Southeast Asia, Li said.
According to the newspaper article, it has been proven that the “65 branches of the Chinese race” share similar DNA mutations with the peoples of East and Southeast Asia.
It said that the Shanghai scientists were part of an international team comprised of researchers from Russia, India, Brazil and other nations in a five-year project studying the geographic and genealogical routes related to the spread and settlement of modern humans.

Hi, I read many posts here. It is rather, interesting, the website.
Your comments on the origins of mankind was reinforcing but a bit redundant because everyone knows that humans came from Africa. But the thing that gets me is that this website of yours uses “ambiguous terms”. When you say Europeans, you should mention the Original Europeans or Original Asians. Further you should also make it known that modern Europeans and modern Asians came from Africa because of numerous amount of similar base sequences found in modern Europeans, Asians, and Africans compared to the “original” people in Africa.
Another point I would like to add is that the website makes it seem that each civilization was founded by Black Africans. This is somewhat untrue. When Europeans and Asians made their civilazations throughout Europe and Asia, the people have developed lighter skin and facial features different from both the “original” Africans and modern day Africans. As the Europeans and Asians back then created their civilizations, the Africans who were evolving in Africa were also creating their unique civilizations throughout Africa. I believe on are that is overlooked and “undiscovered” is Sudan and other areas of East Africa.
Second in regards to Mystern Man, he has some ring of truth, because it is known that Dark Skinned Africans left Africa 100,000 to about 150,000 years ago and settled in different parts of the world. Then, the people evolved and became more advanced. Simultaneously, the Africans who remained in Africa kept their complexion and evolved into more advanced humans too.
I don’t know what you were discussing, but the little black dwarves were a series of hunter and gatherers who made contact to the higher evolved humans in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Although they can be considered Black People, they are genetically different from the Black Africans from 100,000 years ago and from modern day Africans. But they are Black and did also come from Africa, but calling them Black Africans may be a misnomer. It is like calling Europeans or Asians who hundreds of thousands of years ago Black Africans too.

…you need to do more studying, your information is off. Please read over what you submitted. All civilization were influnenced by the knowledge of the original parent people upon the planet(afrikans). Do you know who are the original europeans and Asian?

just face it we are all the children of mother Africa and our beautiful mother is black. no matter how we look now the human race evolved from a negroid people. ancient civilizations were founded by negroids, Black Africans.
mystery man makes the most sense. Black people that originated from Africa did NOT look like the Black people today (The skulls are just way off). People did come FROM AFrica, but and migrated around the world, but like all Creatures, mutations caused these AFRICANS to turn into the current races of today depending on the region. The many cultures were developed by these people who moved away from their African roots and became the chinese culture, European culture and Aboriginal Cultures. That is why the world is so diverse and it isn’t ruled by one culture, one race, or one nation.
The original man may have originated from Africa, but modern man and it’s achievements originated from their own distinct evolution and creative cultures.
this theory does not go against Prof Jin Li, yet explains and helps show the single origin theory while making sense with modern Science and studies.
